Drive carefully within
the speed limit
If you are in a hurry, it is tempting to push the boundaries
of the speed limit in order to reach your destination on time. Not only is this
illegal, it also causes unnecessary wear on your tyres. The brakes also need to
work much harder to bring your car to a complete stop.
Keep Tyres at the
Correct Pressure
Take a look at your owner’s manual to find out the
recommended tyre pressure, and check your tyres on a monthly basis to keep them
correctly inflated. Tyres that are not inflated correctly will puncture more
easily and are going to wear down quickly, whereas over inflated tyres will
cause problems with braking and handling.
Don’t ignore changes
Is the car driving differently to normal? Hearing an unusual
noise? If you notice an abnormality in your vehicle while driving, visit your
local garage just to check everything is okay. It is better to fix a small
problem now than suffer more permanent or expensive damage later.
Change gear at the
right time
